Update - Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project
Update - October 29, 2015
The proposed stormwater management plan to mitigate flood risks across the Brown Hill Keswick Creek catchment will now be finalised for approval by South Australia’s Stormwater Management Authority following unanimous agreement of the plan amongst the project’s five catchment councils.
The Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project – which is a collaboration between Adelaide, Burnside, Mitcham, Unley and West Torrens councils – now looks forward to working with the State Government and the Stormwater Management Authority to progress the implementation of all the proposed flood mitigation works.
Full implementation of the plan is subject to approval from the Stormwater Management Authority and funding assistance from the State and Federal Governments.

The Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project has released the results of a six-week community consultation process regarding proposed flood mitigation works for upper Brown Hill Creek (Part B works).
The community consultation process ran from May 13 to June 23 and attracted 818 public respondents, with 696 of these respondents (85%) indicating their support for the project’s preferred Option D, which includes upgrading the capacity of upper Brown Hill Creek at critical sections. Among respondents who own creek properties likely to be impacted, support for Option D was evenly divided.
The full community consultation report can be viewed at www.bhkcstormwater.com.au.
Once all five catchment councils involved in the project (Adelaide, Burnside, Mitcham, Unley and West Torrens) have formally received the consultation report, they will determine their respective positions on proposed flood mitigation works for upper Brown Hill Creek.
Based on council decisions, a final recommendation on Part B works regarding upper Brown Hill Creek will then be made by the project to the State Government’s Stormwater Management Authority.
It is anticipated that a final recommendation will be made by October 2015.
