Premier Peter Malinauskas has congratulated the Adelaide Football Club on its historic grand final win, as the women’s team took out its third premiership at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The AFLW Crows will be honoured with a public celebration under the canopy in Rundle Mall, on Monday, 11 April, at 5pm.

Co-hosted by the South Australian Government and the City of Adelaide, the AFLW Crows celebration is a fitting event for an incredible team that is an inspiration to young women and girls across South Australia.

Quotes attributable to Premier Peter Malinauskas:

Today, history was made.

Our Adelaide Crows have written their name in the history books as the first ever AFLW team to win a third premiership, and against a formidable opponent in the Melbourne Demons.

Like every South Australian, I am incredibly proud of the passion and commitment our courageous women showed every minute of the game today.

The Adelaide Crows got the job done with the grit and determination our women’s team is known for and in front of a big crowd at Adelaide Oval.

All South Australians – regardless of their team allegiance – should be immensely proud of the AFLW Crows’ inspiring victory and I look forward to seeing as many South Australians as possible at the premiership celebration.

I congratulate the Adelaide Crows on their ground breaking achievements, and I have every confidence women’s AFL will continue to grow into the future.

Quotes attributable to Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor:

Congratulations to the Adelaide Football Club AFLW team as they celebrate yet another well-deserved premiership following a standout season.

These women are such impressive role models, in particular for young women and girls, so I look forward to seeing a big crowd gather on Monday in Rundle Mall to show them our appreciation and help mark this historic third AFLW premiership.

Quotes attributable to Adelaide Crows CEO Tim Silvers:

A third premiership from four grand finals in six years of the AFLW competition is an incredible achievement for our Club and credit must go to everyone involved in our women’s program.

Our players are genuine trailblazers for the game and role models for young people, both on and off the field, and we could not be prouder of them.

We want to celebrate their success with as many South Australians as possible and this event in the city is a great way to start, and we are also planning to take the premiership cup on a tour of the State.
