Grenfell Street footpath renewal
Project status
A contractor has been appointed, and construction is expected to commence in April 2025.
Why are we doing this?
We are renewing sections of Grenfell Street between Register Lane and Hyde Street (South Side) and Imperial Lane to Adelaide Arcade (North Side).
This project is undertaken to address safety concerns such as trip hazards, ensure the footpaths meet modern accessibility standards and improve the overall amenity of the area.
What are we doing?
Key elements of the project include:
- Renewing sections of flagstone pavers with new charcoal flagstone pavers
- Adjusting service pit levels to match the paving for safety, accessibility and aesthetics
- Regrouting and repairing existing pavers to address trip hazards
- Modifying the intersection of Gawler Place to improve pedestrian access and movement
When are we doing it?
Works will be undertaken after hours and is expected to commence in April and be completed by end July 2025.
