Welcoming Young Leadership Development Program (WYLD) 2024

Leading the creation of welcoming, vibrant and inclusive community centres

Are you aged 18 - 30 and want to build valuable skills and help create a city where diverse young people feel they belong and can thrive?

Through the WYLD program you will have the opportunity to learn about inclusive leadership and develop and apply new skills such as marketing and promotions, community engagement, program design and event management. You’ll deepen your understanding of inclusion and diversity and connect with other young people from a wide variety of backgrounds. You will also have the opportunity to make a real difference in our city by leading the creation of environments, programs and events that will attract more young people into our community centres

    Who, when & where

Young people aged 18 - 30 who live, work, study and play/socialise in the city are welcome to join.

The program consists of seven workshops which will be held once a month on a Thursday. The program starts in June and the sessions run 12 pm - 4 pm. The program is primarily held at the Minor Works Building Community Centre and lunch will be provided. You will need to commit to attending all seven workshops as well as a small amount of activity, on occasion, between workshops.
