Library of Things
Did you know the City of Adelaide has a range of take-home kits and a Music Toy Library that make up our Library of Things? Our focus to date has been on providing resources in our City Libraries that:
- Support early childhood development and a love of music
- Enable experimentation with emerging audio and media technologies
- Build digital creative and coding skills, and
- Measure and help reduce home energy consumption.
What is a Library of Things?
A Library of Things is a valuable resource which contributes to a circular economy by reducing waste, buying and our impact on the planet. It provides an affordable and easy way for community to access a variety of resources such as toys, equipment, tools, party games, cookware and more. These items might be:
- Expensive or difficult to source
- Large and difficult to store
- Useful for one-off projects or events
- Helpful to develop your skills and confidence
- Something you want to try out before you decide to invest in a purchase.
Tell us what you think
So, we can offer even more value, and support sustainability in our communities, we invite you to tell us what you think and help shape our Library of Things of the future.
Your input will help us:
- Better promote the resources we already offer
- Understand what else you’d like to borrow or share
- Consider what resources, programs or services we might invest in
- Learn about other services in the CBD and North Adelaide
- Determine the best future model for our Library of Things.
