Regular opening hours:
Monday – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday – 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Wednesday to Friday – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Public holidays – Closed
The wheelchair accessible centre is not only a meeting place but also an ideal venue for a range of events.
Choose from art and craft activities, health and wellbeing classes and meetings. You can learn a language, cook up a storm or share a meal with members of your local community
There is also a range of community and special interest groups who meet at the Minor Works Building community centre on a regular basis.
Volunteers are always welcome to register to help at the centre.

Community centre facilities
The facilities include a Gallery and Loft, a full kitchen, tables and chairs, integrated audio-visual equipment including overhead projector.
The community can take advantage of free WiFi and public computers. Photocopying, printing and scanning services are also available.
Justice of the Peace Service
A free JP service is available at the Minor Works Building community centre.
This is a drop-in service run by City of Adelaide volunteers. You do not need a booking.

Hiring the Minor Works Building
The Minor Works Building has been totally renovated and refurbished and is available to hire including an exhibition space. All areas in The Minor Works Building are available for hire by the hour or day.
Venue hire is free for community groups. For business and private use, fees apply and depend on your hirer category.

Equipment for hire
Did you know the centre holds games equipment that can be used at nearby Whitmore Square/Iparrityi? This includes the key to the giant chess set.
Community garden
The Minor Works Building community centre is involved with the local community gardens on Whitmore Square / Iparrityi verge (Western side of Whitmore Square). Contact them to see how you can join in.
Getting to Minor Works Building community centre
On Foot: The Centre is about three minutes' walk from the Adelaide Central Market.
By Tram: Alight at the City South tram stop and walk west along Sturt Street, turn right after 50 Sturt Street, through the courtyard and the Centre is a short distance in front of you.
By Bus: The free City Connector bus passes along Sturt Street (Stop 83) every 15 minutes in both directions. Routes 98A and 98C serve the free city and North Adelaide loop. Routes 99A and 99C serve the free city loop.
