Jane Jose
Jane Jose (then Jane Rann) was a City of Adelaide Councillor and Alderman between 1989-1995 and was elected Deputy Lord Mayor in 1991 on a platform to save Adelaide’s colonial buildings. An experienced general manager of the Chris Rann & Associates public relations company, she later became general manager of corporate strategy at HASSELL (1997-2000).
In 2001 Jose received a Centenary Medal for service to Australian Society. She joined the Central Sydney Planning Committee in 2002 and worked as City Strategist for the City of Sydney between 2006-2009. Jose was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Sydney Community Foundation, in 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (English Language and Literature) from the University of Adelaide.
As a writer and consultant in urban strategic planning, Jose has informed place making policy for two decades in cities across Australia. Her book, Places Women Make, was published by Wakefield Press in 2016.
