Gresham Street Fringe Parties 2022

Hindley Street

There’s little more that Adelaidians love than a good ol’ fashioned street party. City of Adelaide are bringing them back as part of the new Adelaide Unleashed Program. The street and laneway closures allow local hospitality businesses to join forces and do what they do best–wine and dine you. Outdoor mingling provides a greater COVID safe environment while making the most of this primo weather. Entertainment spans across music and street performance in a show of support for Adelaide’s talented creative community.

First up to bat is Gresham Street.

Mississippi Moon, La Buvette, The Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange, and La Boca are bringing some Fringe goodness to the West End on:

  • Friday 11 March, 4:30 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Friday 18 March, 4:30 pm to 11:30 pm

Meet the key players below.

Mississippi Moon

25 Gresham St, Adelaide SA 5000

Mississippi Moon is a haven for Blues, Jazz and old Rock n Roll enthusiasts so it’s no surprise the name is an ode to a rock song by Ryan Adams. It’s also a haven for the free spirited. Signature drinks include Moonshine, an illicit liquor typically made with corn mash, and Boilermakers which involve a shot of whiskey paired with a beer. They’ll be bringing a taste of rebellion to the night by whipping up some spiked ice tea.

La Buvette

27 Gresham St, Adelaide SA 5000

La Buvette is a love letter to the streets of Paris, with its signature blue frontage, classic Bentwood bistro chairs, and ornate timber bar. The watering hole has won over many hearts and blurred many minds with their range of spirits and cocktails. The extensive wine list champions both French and local natural and organic wines.

The Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange

1/27 Gresham St, Adelaide SA 5000

The Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange is the perfect marriage of liquor and literature. The cocktail list is inspired by old classics and contemporary reads. The “Memoirs of a Geisha” fuses gin, sake, fruity flavours and sesame while the “Don Quixote” pairs prune rum, Pedro Ximenes and Tempranillo. The bite-sized drinkery has a mammoth list of premium spirits from across the globe and bar snacks to match.

La Boca Bar and Grill Adelaide

150 North Terrace, Adelaide SA 5000

Rumbling tummies, fear not. La Boca will be satisfying appetites in true Argentinian style. Utilising traditional asado cooking techniques, they’ll be serving up hearty flavours using the wood-fired Parilla.

Entertainment

In true Fringe spirit, a roaming burlesque dancer will be pulling the moves, accompanied by a reptile companion. Internationally acclaimed Poi Spinner, Tim Goddard of Dragon Mill School of Fire Art, will be heating things up with fire twirling. A range of DJs will be spinning tunes all night.
