Francene Connor
Francene Connor (1956-) was elected Councillor of the MacDonnell Ward of the City of Adelaide 1990-1995 and Alderman 1995-1997. She was a member of the Adelaide Convention and Tourism Authority Board Member, the City Living Advisory Group and the TAFE SA Council.
A successful restaurateur in the early 1980s, running Raffles Supper Club in Hindley Street, Connor was a member of the Hindley Street Traders Association. An events marketing and public relations expert, she was a State Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in 1996 for her role as Business Development Manager for the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia.
Connor has judged the South Australian and Australian Tourism Awards, the Australia Day Council Australian of the Year Awards, and Australia Day Community and Citizen Awards. She has been an Australia Day Ambassador since 2008 and is currently the Chair of the SA Country Women’s Association Marketing Committee.
