Dr Helen Donovan
Dr Helen Donovan was elected as a Councillor for the South Ward of the City of Adelaide in 2018. Her professional experience includes public programs, strategic planning, research and policy analysis, and education in community, secondary and tertiary institutions.
Donovan has worked with organisations that include Victoria Police, Diabetes Australia, the Heart Foundation and Breast Cancer Network Australia. She is a practising behaviour change psychologist specialising in initiating and maintaining long-term health behaviour change, and Executive Director Walking SA.
Donovan previously served as a psychologist in the Army Reserves and has four generations of family members who have served in either the Australian Army or the Royal Australian Air Force.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a PhD in Psychology from Deakin University, and was a Lecturer (Health Behaviour Change) at Deakin University (2010-2011).
