Australia Day activities in the city 2025

Over the weekend, the Australia Day Council SA, under a Partnership Agreement with City of Adelaide, will host a variety of events across the city for Australia Day, observed on 26 January 2025.

Activities will include Mourning in the Morning – Smoking Ceremony, storytelling, the illumination of the Elder Park Rotunda, and the Respecting Country Parade from Adelaide Oval to Elder Park. The event will be held on Sunday 26 January 2025 from 7:30 am to 8:45 am in Elder Park / Tarntanya Wama.

Also on Sunday, Aus Lights on the River will feature an official ceremony at 8:00 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 PM.
