Adelaide and George Town 50th anniversary competition
The City of Adelaide and George Town in Malaysia will celebrate 50 years as sister cities in 2023.
George Town is the capital of Penang, which was founded in 1786 by Captain Francis Light.
Fifty years later Adelaide was founded by his son, Colonel William Light, so it was only natural that the two should develop a sister city relationship.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the relationship, George Town is running a logo competition with great prizes open to all citizens of Australia and Malaysia.
Participants must submit a logo to symbolise the 50th anniversary celebrations between the two sister cities.

Participants need to submit their logo and the submission form (English) or submission form (Malay) by emailing [email protected].
Entries close 6:30 pm, Sunday 16 April.
